Director of Engineering
15-18 years
Directors of engineering command combat engineering or construction battalions of 500 to 750 military personnel. They direct all civil engineering operations at a military base and advise base or area commanders on civil engineering matters. They also direct planning and management of major engineering projects and evaluate construction bids submitted by civilian contractors.


Engineering Staff Officer
9-11 years
Engineering staff officers analyze and recommend design specifications for buildings, and other structures and determine construction project costs. They also lead other civil engineers and advise senior commanders on combat engineering or general construction matters.


Senior Engineer

Senior engineers plan and manage programs to maintain utilities, buildings, or roads on a military base and review plans and designs for engineering projects. They also command combat engineering companies of 65 to 200 enlisted personnel.
